Dan Gibson
MSc Planning Building for Health (Dist), FIHEEM
Dan is the Technical Director of MJ Medical with over 28 years’ experience in health planning, equipment planning, medical planning, healthcare briefing, design and medical technology procurement. Dan’s diverse and extensive experience spans more than 250 healthcare projects across 70 countries, working in partnership with healthcare providers, investors, architects, engineers and contractors to deliver innovative, effective and adaptable services and facilities that respond to the changing needs of the health system.
As a Director and Principal Consultant, Dan heads MJ Medicals clinical consultancy and technical project teams to provide health planning including capacity and demand modelling, developing clinical delivery strategies, models of care and operational policies as well as clinical design management, clinical adjacencies dialogue and medical technology planning and procurement.
Having completed his MSc in Planning Buildings for Health with a distinction and being awarded the Brian Brookes Memorial Prize for Academic Excellence by the faculty, Dan returned to the Medical Architecture Research Unit (MARU) as a lecturer for seven years. He is a founding director of the Healthcare Planning Academy as well as Healthcare Design Leadership, a Community Interest Company which provides training to the NHS in healthcare planning, design and construction, on a not-for-profit basis.
